Sometimes the right thing seems to fall into your lap at just the right time - even if you had no idea you were looking! That is more or less the story of how we became the new leadership of Copper State. We like to think of the journey that got us here as a COVID blessing.
Chris (an Australian) and I (Kimberly, a Missourian) come from opposite ends of the world - literally! - as it relates to our love of horses. I am the daughter of a cowboy - growing up riding my dad's team roping Quarter horses for the love of it. Chris is the son of a mother whose lifelong love of Welsh riding ponies inspired Chris to start riding at an age he doesn't actually remember. He pursued riding competitively - ultimately competing in cross country and eventing, as well as training horses in Australia, the UK and the US at the highest level.
After meeting a neighbor on a BIG warmblood, Mojo (above!), in a neighborhood arena at the very beginning of the COVID shut downs - our daughters, Victoria (9) and Vivien (7), officially started their own love affairs with horses. Within months, we met Anna Lewis, founder of Copper State, bought her horse trailer, then her house...and eventually her horse show series.
We now have a motley crew of three horses in our backyard barn (a young Quarter horse mare, a "seasoned" off track thoroughbred, and an Arabian mare in foal - why not!) - simply a blessing we never planned for, but gratefully embraced! We also share our home and our love with two Australian Cattle Dog pups and two bearded dragons.
Chis and I THANK YOU for your encouragement and support as we kick start our venture into the horse "show biz". We believe our professional experiences in marketing and business will help us realize our mission of enhancing the Copper State Horse Show experience. Our commitment is to try our guts out to produce a show series that is professionally run, fun, and competitive in numbers. Your feedback is always welcome!
